International workshop extends ITU-T work on human exposure to electromagnetic fields

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) together with the Ministry for Economic Development of Italy organized a workshop on Human Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs). The workshop was held on 9 May 2013 in Turin, Italy.
The objectives of this workshop were to respond to WTSA-12 Resolution 72 “Measurement concerns related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields”, to provide an overview of EMF issues to policy makers and other stakeholders and to identify a few actions for consideration of ITU-T Study Group 5, Working Party 2.
The workshop brought together leading specialists in the field, from top policy-makers to engineers, designers, planners, government officials, regulators, standards experts and others.

The ITU has long been engaged with the subject of human exposure to ICT- emitted EMF's and workshop concluded with a Call to Action giving further impetus to this work.
